Ballet/Pointe Intensive - June 5-9 - for ages 10-16 - 10 AM to 3 PM - $125
This Intensive will focus on instruction in Ballet for ages 10-16. Dancers should have a minimum of 2 years of prior experience in Ballet dance to enroll. Dancers new to Pointe are welcome, but they must contact DancEast to receive permission to dance en pointe in our studio if they have not already received that permission prior to enrollment in this Intensive. After the first hour of instruction on the first day, dancers will be divided into appropriate groups for instruction (according to technical ability displayed). We will utilize both Cecchetti and Vaganova methods in order to help dancers move forward in their understanding and execution of Ballet dance movement. Dancers will take classes in Barre, Technique, Allegro, Adagio, Turns & Leaps, Pilates, Variations and Performance. Level I pointe dancers will spend a minimum of 2 hours each day en pointe. Level II pointe dancers will spend a minimum of 3 hours each day en pointe. Dancers should dress according to DancEast's dress code for Ballet II and higher every day. They should bring a lunch, water bottle and 2 snacks each day, as well.
