SUMMER CLASS SCHEDULE FOR 2-8 YEAR OLDS:

My First Dance Class, ages 2-3 (must turn 2 by June 4)

This is the ideal first class for children who show an interest in music and movement!

Creative Movement, ages 3-4 (3 year olds should first complete My First Dance Class)

This class is all about moving to the music, learning basic Ballet concepts and having fun!

Intro to Ballet, ages 4-5 (4 year olds should first complete Creative Movement)

Students will learn Ballet basics, including correct foot and arm placement and correct terminology, in an environment that is fun and exciting and creates a love for dance.

Ballet/Pre-tap, ages 5-6 (5 year olds should first complete Intro to Ballet)

Students will build upon Ballet skills already learned and learn new technique and movement. They'll also "tap" into the basics of tap dance - a genre that allows dancers to use their feet as percussive instruments.

Triple Threat (Ballet/Jazz/Tap), ages 7-9

The summer version of this popular class focuses heavily on jazz and tap dance, with a few basic ballet skills thrown into the mix. It's a fun and exciting class that incorporates contemporary music and a lot of interesting new ways to dance and move.

Hip-Hop 1, ages 5-8

Hip-hop dance is a street-inspired style performed to hip-hop music and reflecting hip-hop culture. Each class includes an upbeat warm-up followed by urban dance choreography unique to the instructor's style.

Breakdance 1, ages 5-8 ~ 4-week workshop: July 11th, 18th, 25th, and August 1st

Breakdance is an energetic and often acrobatic style of dance that incorporates intricate footwork and even pantomime. It's a great way to burn a lot of energy while learning about rhythm and increasing strength and flexibility.

Ballet/Jazz, ages 5-8

This class will encourage creative expression while also learning ballet and jazz techniques. Ballet introduces structure, discipline, and grace; while the jazz portion of class will be upbeat and allow dancers to move and express themselves in an entirely new way!

Intro to Clogging, ages 5+ - FAMILY CLASS (parents encouraged to join)

Clogging is a high energy style of dance that originated in he United States in the hills of the Appalachians. This beloved style of dance has evolved over the years, incorporating numerous styles of step dances. Clogging has expanded from being performed to only country and bluegrass music to all genres of music. Join us for an introductory course designed for the whole family and learn both traditional and contemporary clogging techniques!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AGES 1-4:

Dance With Me is a class in which both Parent or Caregiver and Child actively participate in the class. During this 30- minute class that meets once a week, dancers will have fun moving and grooving to the music while building social skills in a creative, nurturing space. This class is ideal for young dancers and parents who want to explore movement together.

During this 30-minute class that meets once a week, dancers will learn studio etiquette and movement technique in a warm and nurturing environment that allows for a lot of individual attention. This class lays the foundation for learning Ballet basics.

During this 30-minute class that meets once a week, students will learn dance studio etiquette and how to be a part of a group of dancers moving and creating together. 3-year-olds who haven't taken dance class before should begin with My First Dance Class instead of Creative Movement.

They'll also begin to learn Jazz dance - an exciting dance style that incorporates contemporary music and a lot of fun new moves. 6-year-olds should complete Ballet/Pre-tap before enrolling in Triple Threat.

AGES 7-11: 

Acrobatic Dance is the perfect class for increasing flexibility and strength while also increasing dance ability. Not to be confused with Gymnastics, Acrobatic Dance is the performance of movement that requires balance, coordination and agility. This is a 45-minute class that meets once a week.
